BRAVO! & Ovation Academy for the Performing Arts
Tina is the Artistic Director and Creator of the award winning BRAVO Performing Arts program at Gwendolyn Brooks Middle School in Oak Park, IL. Tina is also the proud Founder, Director and CEO of Ovation Academy for the Performing Arts. Most recently Tina is thrilled to have purchased the Madison Street Theater, all of which are in Oak Park, IL just outside of Chicago. Tina has directed over 80 musicals and theatrical productions. In 2010 she received the inaugural Freddie G Director’s Award at the International Junior Theater Festival. Earning her BFA in Musical Theatre from Cal-State Fullerton Tina has also toured world-wide with the renowned The Young Americans. Tina has directed aboard Navy Pier’s Spirit of Chicago and performed in several regional Chicago productions. She has led the BRAVO team to Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta, GA and Sacramento, CA where they have been awarded Outstanding Production for eleven consecutive years and have presented New Works productions of which include Moana, JR, Legally Blonde JR, Hairspray JR, James and the Giant Peach, JR, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, JR to name a few. BRAVO and Ovation are honored to collaborate with iTheatrics, Music Theater International and TRW licensing houses in piloting over twenty adaptations of JR, Student Edition and Young Performer musicals including the World Premiere of James and the Giant Peach, Fame, Matilda, Frozen, West Side Story, Moana and many more. Tina is also an actress, singer, musician, musical director, writer and mother of two. For mere fun, Tina performs with the seasonal vocal group The Caroling Party, performs with two show bands, and still travels world-wide as an Associate Director for The Young Americans. Tina has been responsible for launching many careers’ in the industry over the past 30 years. Some of who are now Artistic Directors, Directors, Agents, Casting directors in Chicago, New York, and all over the country.
